ZPC Pool Club and Metropolis have emerged as early pacesetters in the Bulawayo Pool Associationas Division One A and Division One B Leagues respectively as action enters week four on Saturday.
Led by Romeo Chibwe and Jimmy Moyo, ZPC has proved to be a hard nut to crack and last weekend they dispatched seasoned campaigners UBH on their way to the apex of Division One A log standings as the championship race promises to stretch all the way to the wire.
UBH dropped to third position after their defeat at the hands of ZPC was coupled with yet another loss to former premiership side Skittle Inn. Nkulumane Complex enter week four with their tails up after they hammered Donald Wadawuas Munyoro Community 10-4 with Bambi Lounge managing to force a 7-7 draw away to Dawn.
In the Division One B League, Metropolis made a true statement of intent of seeking to graduate to the elite league when they massacred Mafikizolo 10-4. The Ascot-based club now leads the pack with nine points from three matches. They share the same number of points with Khami who sit on second position courtesy of an inferior frame difference.
Third placed 13th Avenue are keeping a close check on Metropolis and Khami and last Saturday they got the better of Sibamba on a 8-6 score-line. Captained by Simon Kawazva and Henry Karuma, 13th Avenue are now on position five with six points to their credit and have a game in hand.
In the associationsa top flight league where defending champions Kings are in top formA and are sitting on top of the log with nine points, Raylton have continued to find the going tough after they lost 5-9 to Exchange.
Kings, who are BPA Premier Leagueas five time champions, are tied on nine points with Lounge Sharks and the former sit on top of the log courtesy of a superior frame difference following their 8-6 triumph over Ace Lounge.
Other Premier League week three matches were postponed as police teams were having their annual police games.
BPA publicity secretary Farai Nyandoro said the postponed matches would be played on Sunday.
a?This means other teams will have double headers as we enter week four on Saturday,a? said Nyandoro.
