BULAWAYO Pool Associationsa�� Division One A side, ZPC clinched the inaugural Matopos Sailing Club-sponsored two-day pool tournament last Sunday.
For their efforts, the Thembinkosi Mlotshwa-captained side sunk the last ball and took the cow home.
The youthful team put up a polished display that endeared them with fans who came out to watch the tournament.
So good they were, they confined CSC to two goats as runners up. It was not a predictable tournament, heavyweights such as ZPC bite the dust even though they showed serious intent when they dismissed Dragons.
The associationa��s Premier League outfit ACE lounge came out third after they got the better ofA�A� Easter tournament winners Lounge Sharks in a second round match.A� ACE Lounge got a goat for coming third best. Clubs that also made it into the top six were Munyoro Community, Egodini and Happy Valley. They each received a crate of beer as consolation prizes.
Egodini had earlier knocked out Premier Leaguea��s pacesetters Exchange with the Donald Wadawu-led Munyoro also getting the better of teams like UBH and Nkulumane Complex on their way to reachingA� the top six.
Happy Valley also eased past Sibamba and Donnington to book a place in the last stages of the contest.
The draw had earlier seen some of the premiership powerhouses being pitted against each other with log leaders Exchange knocking out Entumbane while Lounge booted out Western Commonage.
Raylton, who have had a bad start in the league, beat Masters on the first day and could have made it to the top six but MacDonald Mudege controversially lost to Philani Mlotshwa of ACE on the second day.
Meanwhile, Entumbane B were the champions in the reserve sides category after they beat CSC B in the final match.
The former got a goat as their prize and the latter was given a crate of beer.
