Zimbabwe womenas coach Trevor Phiri is quite optimistic about his charges.
a?Iam quite optimistic with the crop of players I have. They have what it takes to win and go on to shine at the World Cup, plus the preparations are going according to plan,a? he said.
Phiri further added that he was not worried about South Africa as they are familiar with most of the players they will play against.
a?I am not worried about them (South Africa) they know what we are capable of. We have played against them in the franchise system,a? said Phiri.
He further said every month the womenas team meets in Harare to play against local menas clubs in competitive matches as a way of supplementing the international matches they donat get.
South Africaas coach, Hilton Moreeng was quoted in the media also looking optimistic.
a?Game time is golden in womenas cricket because we donat get a lot of tours, even more so at emerging level, so we were happy to be a part of this and also give a chance to players whom we know have great potential to move up to the next level,a? he said.
