Two Zimbabwean coaches could be in line to replace Moneni Pirates coachA Zenzele Ace Dlamini.
Dlamini, the former Swaziland national team coach, is headed to Harare for a lengthy work related training under the Swaziland National Defence Forces. As such he announced he was quitting Moneni Pirates at the weekend.
The announcement by Dlamini sparked speculation with Luke Masomere and Nation Dubeas names emerging among several foreign coaches that have been earmarked to replace the towering mentor.
A well-placed source within the a?Buccaneersa? camp asserted that the team was already considering the next candidate to replace the former Sihlangu coach.
a?The board is now considering other coaches to replace the head coach since he will soon be leaving the country due to work commitments. Several names of foreign coaches from Zambia and Zimbabwe have been recommended for the job as well as two local assistants, who will be able to maintain the culture of the team,a? the source said.
Moneni Pirates Chief Executive Officer Thamie Dlamini said nothing formal had reached his office regarding the future of the coach.
a?We havenat met with the coach to discuss his future with the team. He is still our coach and has a running contract with the team, therefore, it would be folly for me commit myself any further until I get a formal briefing,a? he was quoted by local media.
Some of the foreign coaches tipped for the position include former Malanti Chiefs coach David Solopi and the Zimbabwean duo of Nation Dube and Luke Masomere.
Dlamini joined Pirates mid last season during his second stint with the a?Sea Robbersa? after that of the 2015/ 16 season where he helped the black and white ensemble win the 2015 SwaziBank Cup.
It would be interesting that early this year, Mbabane Highlanders failed to flex up an attractive financial bounty to lure Masomere while Dube recently told this correspondent that he was not ready to return to coaching soon, preferring a sabbatical.
