AJAX Cape Town a home to Zimbabwean international striker Tendai Ndoro a do not regret fielding the player even when the decision has resulted in the club being docked nine points and ultimately relegated.
The club was punished for fielding Ndoro despite a Fifa ruling that he must not play in the Absa Premiership as the player had signed for three clubs in one season.
The South African club nevertheless fielded the player in a number of matches.
Ajax Cape Town are now paying the ultimate price of being relegated from the top flight football to the lower league, the National First Division, but have no regrets using the striker they snapped from Saudi Arabian Club a Al Faisaly FC.
a?Itas a decision that we do not regret at all. When he (Ndoro) was brought to the club his job was to score goals and help pull us out of the relegation zone. We brought him here (Ajax Cape Town FC) because he is a top striker,a? club spokesman Shooz Mekuto told B-Metro Sport by telephone on Wednesday afternoon.
Ajax Cape Town have, however, stated that their legal team was looking into the matter.
a?The club is in the process of preparing papers to be filed urgently before the High Court in Johannesburg,a? said the club in a statement.
