The haunted Ngezi Mansion..3 redcards, 2 Bulawayo games, 0 wins

Fungai Muderere
NGEZI Platinum Stars head coach has conceded that Bulawayo has not been a good hunting ground for his charges who have failed to register a single win in the two games they have played so far in the City of Kings and Queens.

A fortnight ago, Ngezi played the last 24 minutes of their match against Chicken Inn with 10 players on the field after striker Clive Augusto was sent off for a second bookable offence by referee Munyaradzi Majoni.

Augusto was sent for an early shower the last time Madamburo visited the City of Kings, when they lost 1-0 to Bulawayo Chiefs at the same venue in June.

Gracious Muleyaas 30th minute penalty helped Bulawayo Chiefs to become the first club to beat Ngezi Platinum Stars in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League as the second-placed side finally met their match at Luveve.

Chiefs, who had gone for seven games without a win by then, defied all the odds against a Ngezi side that finished the match with nine players following red cards to substitutes Augusto and Xolisani Moyo.

a?Bulawayo and even Harare have not been good hunting places for us. We have not done well in Bulawayo as we are yet to register any win this season. Itas very much worrying as we are set to come back to Bulawayo and play against Highlanders and Bulawayo City,a? said Ndiraya whose side clobbered crisis-hit Shabanie Mine 5-1 in a midweek fixture played last Wednesday at Mandava before they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mutare City last weekend.

On Sunday, they head interestingly to their dreaded Bulawayo to face Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium.

Ndiraya added that the continued trend by his players of picking unnecessary cautions and red cards was going to negatively impact on their campaign.

a?The fact that the same player (Augusto) keeps on getting red cards speaks volumes about his character. We will need to sit some of our players down because these cards will affect us.

Iam not happy that my boys keep on picking cards at this crucial stage of the season. We will need to continue teaching them how to manage situations,a? said Ndiraya.

The miners have amassed a total of 51 points, four behind log leaders FC Platinum who beat Bulawayo Chiefs 3-1 in their last league encounter.
