OF all the reported tales of mischief by married men, this one from Bulawayo should have been captured in the Guinness Book of Records.
A man from Newton West suburb took his wife by surprise when he allegedly tiptoed to their fellow female tenantas bedroom where he was later found hiding in the wardrobe after being interrupted doing only what God knows.
And the following is a script of the incident and how the man was caught by his wife and her younger sister allegedly hiding in their fellow female tenantas wardrobe.
On 6 August at around 8pm, Joyce Makuto reportedly retired to bed leaving her husband, Reon Mpofu, the alleged drama king, in the dining room where he was reportedly working on a computer.
It is reported that at about 11pm and apparently after the bed had gone cold, Joyce reportedly woke up and went to the dining room looking for her husband so that he could supposedly come and join her in bed.
She was, however, shocked when she could not find him.
Suspicions having got the better of her, she quickly went to her younger sister Tariro Makutoas bedroom where she failed to locate him.
However, all hell broke loose when she finally barged into their fellow female tenant only identified as Moreblessingas room where she found him inside her wardrobe.
When his shocked wife asked him what he was doing inside their fellow female tenantas wardrobe, the disgraced Mpofu allegedly turned violent and assaulted her with open hands on the face.
As if that was not enough, the self-employed Mpofu also assaulted Joyceas younger sister after she reprimanded him for assaulting her sister. The matter was later reported to the police leading to the arrest of Mpofu.
For the offence he was hauled before Bulawayo magistrate Sibongile Msipa facing two counts of physical abuse as defined in Section 3 (1) (a)A as read with Section 4 of the Domestic Violence Act Chapter 5:16.
He pleaded guilty to both counts and was remanded out of custody on free bail to a later date for plea recording.
