ITaS the return of the Mac!
South African kwaito impresario Professor returns to Bulawayo barely five months after setting the city on fire during the Kalawa Homecoming show in December.
Born Mkhonzeni Langa, for the upcoming show he tags along stable mates at Proper Files Records, Stiff a a group fronted by Bulawayo-born Delaney a?Dilizaa? Dondo.
The gig, scheduled for the Bulawayo City Hall car park, will, like the Jah Prayzah show at Hartsfield Tshisanyama, mark the shut down (unofficially) of the five-day Zimbabwe International Trade Fair exhibition.
But bubbling under as a potential show stealer is Stiff, a group that has two other members joining Diliza, namely Nhlanhla a?Mgijimia? Dlamini and Sibusiso a?Sbua? Masondo.
Diliza told B-Metro that they would take the time to launch their latest single Ingane KaMa in Zimbabwe.
a?Nothing humbles me more than performing in my home town. As we promised last year that we will come back to party with our fans in Bulawayo, on Saturday itas the day we rock the city like we have done before.
a?We will perform some of the songs which are on our forthcoming album like Ingane kaMa which has already won many hearts across South Africa. I believe it will get reception in Bulawayo,a? said Diliza.
But while they anticipate a moment of glory, perhaps kwaito faithfuls in Bulawayo will be won by another top artiste Dr Malinga of the Via Orlando fame who will also take to the stage on the same night.
With three acts from the South African kwaito scene, Nqobizitha Ncube of Nqoza Entertainment, the show organisers, said it was an opportunity for local artistes to forge relations with the foreign legion.
a?The main aim of the show is to cultivate relationships between local artistes and South African artistes thatas why we manage to balance the line-up so that local artistes can get a platform to perform at big shows,a? he said.
Local artistes to share the stage will be Military Touch Movementas Ex-Q, Tytan, Madlela Skhobokhobo, Martin and Ndolwane Super Sounds, Mlambos Express, Zhezhingtons, Lady D, Mzoe, DJ Sweeto, Teflon, Nash Abra, CrackDat and Vasco.
