Stars maintain winning streak

BULAWAYO Christian league outfit Flying Stars defied all odds when they beat Rising Stars in a top of the table clash last weekend.

The win buttressed the point that Flying Stars are number one contenders for the title this year.

a�?We are leaving no stone unturned in our quest for the title. Last week was a tough encounter but we prevailed victorious. We want to make the winning culture our tradition so that we overtake our fellow competitors AFM in the league,a�? said Evans Maduku.

He added that the game was a difficult encounter.
a�?We were playing with a good team that has given other teams a torrid time in going with all the three points home. We hope to maintain our form as we progress in the league. We want to continue being on top,a�? he said.

Flying Stars have a battle of their life time when they face undefeated AFM at their home ground this Saturday.

In other matches, early pacesetters AFM maintained their unbeaten streak with a win over Eagle Life last Saturday.

a�?It was a difficult encounter where all the players from both of the teams tried to deliver all they had got. It seemed to be our day because we won. We want to continue with the winning culture,a�? said their gaffer Evans Maduku.

Sangano Legends, who had an undefeated streak last year managed to beat Brethren in Christ Church 3-1A�A� and emphasized that there are the defending champions.

GCC beat Assemblies 3-1 last week in a tough encounter.
