Skolopad eyes Zimbabwe market

Vuyelwa Sibindi
ENDOWED with puzzling and dazzling looks, raunchy socialite Nonhlanhla a?Skolopada? Qwabe, who is slowly carving her name in the countryas showbiz industry, says she comes cheap.

Alas, the price tag is not for her most valued possessions but for her performances on stage!

a?I am a dancer and I am good at what I do. I donat flash my privates so as to make money as it is not about the money but doing what I love during my spare time. Dancing is in me and that is motivation enough. The 15 K (US$1 200) I get from my bookings is a bonus,a? she revealed.

This leads one to wonder why promoters have failed to bring the dancer to the city of Kings and Queens.

In December 2017 Devine Assignments revealed that they were in talks with the feisty dancer but it was not be as her performance remained only a pipedream. She revealed to B-Metro that Zimbabwean promoters were not serious over bringing her to the countryas stages.

a?Promoters have approached me in the past and some are still calling me but when it comes to delivering on their promises they disappear. It seems like they only want to talk to me but are not serious about bringing Skolopad to Zimbabwe. I am interested in performing in Zimbabwe and I am sure that I can make Bulawayo my second home.a?

a?Given a chance to perform in the city or the country I would give my fans one of my finest performances, something they will talk about for a long time to come. I have realised that many people know me based on what they hear or what they have read but a performance would be a chance for them to see the real me,a? said Skolopad.

She also revealed that dancing did not clash with her nursing profession.

a?As a professional nurse I make sure that promoters book me at least three weeks prior so that I avail myself on that day. I do dancing performances during weekends and if itas during the week I ask for leave days as I take my job seriously,a? she concluded.
