THE Mawaya waya hit maker, Shinsoman real name Romeo Anthony set Hwange ablaze last Saturday. Affectionately known by his legion of fans as the dancehall father, the reggae dancehall artiste shared the stage with rapper Kennedy Simbanegavi aka Yoz.

The show which was held at the newly opened Eldarado rock park was a first for Hwange to have a dancehall artiste perform and the excitement amongst the dancehall fans resulted in a high turnout.

Shinsoman revealed that his kind of music is catalogue unlike what he would term a?bubblegum musica? which is being produced by most artistes who claim to be dancehall gurus.

a?My kind of music is that which has a lifespan, for example the hit song Mawaya Waya is still making hit even after a year of being on the streets. Bubblegum music is that which loses taste, they produce songs of the moment and tend to lose value in the long run,a? he said.

Romeo also revealed that he holds workshops that help groom upcoming artistes within the ghetto.

a?Once in a while I get to hold workshops with Yoz in grooming the upcoming artistes, we want the dancehall category to be ongoing and not fade in the long run.a?
