Seagirl gets a taste of greatness

BULAWAYO’s fast rising songstress Novuyo Seagirl has raised the bar high for upcoming female artistes in the city.

Seagirl became the first Bulawayo artiste to scoop an award at the inaugural Star FM Music Awards last week Friday in Harare.

The Aeiou hit maker is basking in the glory of her three awards and has become the most noticeable upcoming female artiste from the city of kings.

Novuyo’s recent accomplishments are not an overnight success story but the songstress has been working tirelessly for the past three years from being a Starbrite 2016 winner, Dreamstar finalist and scooping two awards at last year’s Skyz Metro FM awards.

Seagirl says the glory of winning awards comes with a lot of pressure.

“As much as every artiste enjoys winning awards, these awards come with a lot of pressure on them. We need to make sure that we stay in the line of winning. Now I must make sure that I release the Aeiou video before the song goes stale,” said Seagirl.

The Afro pop and house artiste has already begun paving way for herself as she is currently in Harare connecting with other artistes who she probably wishes to work with.

“For now I am in Harare trying to connect and network with other artistes whom I could possibly work with,” she added.

Seagirl is working on her debut album Love Bitter and Sweet.

“I am also working on my first album which people should get ready for because I am coming in full force,” she said.

Awards have given Seagirl a purpose and reason to push her music harder.

“The awards have shown me that my talent is being recognised and I should push further to keep winning and reigning in this industry,” said Seagirl.
