IT’S going to be a head-on between one of the city’s most successful women in music and one of Bulawayo’s fast rising songstresses of this generation at the Star FM music awards.

Sandra Ndebele and pint sized Seagirl have been nominated in the category of best house song at the Star FM Music Awards 2019, an inaugural event set to honour the radio station’s outstanding musicians.

For years Sandra Ndebele has not got any challenge in the Afro pop and house music as many women in this genre failed to reach her level. But this year is going to be different. Seagirl will take Sandra on.

The 2016 Star Brite winner, Seagirl rose to fame with her house track – “Aeiou” and she is looking forward to the Star FM awards.

“I am looking forward to the awards and I believe in my music. This is my second time being nominated on the Best House category and that boosts my confidence. The music industry has accepted my music and I’m growing fast and I think that will work to my advantage in winning the award. I am also performing at the awards ceremony and that is a win for me as it will be my first time performing in Harare,” said Seagirl.

The awards identify musical excellence, providing a multi-faceted celebration of the rich cultural diversity of Zimbabwean music and the main objective of the awards is to bring respect and sustainability to the Zimbabwe Music Industry.
