TWELVE schools are set to do battle at the annual Proton Surrey Group Nash U20 Boys Football tournament at Hippo Valley High School on Friday.
Schools that will compete for top honours are Guinea Fowl (Midlands), Pumula (Bulawayo), Oriel Boys (Harare), Mutare Boys (Manicaland), Chibi (Masvingo), Rujeko (Mashonaland Central), Rusununguko (Mashonaland East), Conway (Mashonaland West), Gloag (Matabeleland North), Tongwe (Matabeleland South), Mavhuradonha (Mashonaland Central) and the hosts Hippo Valley (Masvingo).
Mavhuradonha go into the contest as the defending champions.
Nash head in charge of football Albert Mucheka said:
“The games will be played on Friday and we intend to ensure that by 1600hrs we are done.”
Proton Bakery, the sponsor through the company’s sales manager, Simba Bodzo, said they were looking forward to a partnership with Nash that will grow in leaps and bounds.
“We are proud to announce that Proton is sponsoring this year’s Nash U-20 soccer tournament with a sum of $5 000,” said Bodzo.
Also as part of the sponsorship, the company will provide branded kits for the semi-finalists and also provide individuals accolades.
