Nothing wrong with make-up, but the doer

Nhlalwenhle Ncube

MAKE-UP is about beautifying who you are, being the defined version of yourself!

Yes, you got me right. There is nothing wrong with make-up, but the doer. It should be clear that when someone applies make-up, it should not look like she is trying to escape from who she really is. It is just beautifying oneself.

It is so unfortunate that some women over-do it and at the end of the day appear like ghosts, so there is nothing wrong with make-up, but the doer.

I believe no one should be ashamed of putting an effort to look beautiful as long as it is not disgusting.

Sisters, I guess you have at one time met a woman who becomes a laughing stock because of the way she would have applied make-up. I think some women do not really know why make-up is applied and that is the reason they are often caught off-side.

I know of some women who cannot imagine facing the day without make-up on their face. In extreme cases, women wonat allow anyone to see them without their faces made up for the day, including their own husbands!

Fortunately, this isnat very common, but many women report feeling more confident going to work, school or running errands with at least some make-up on. This can range from a light application of foundation and lipstick.

This shows that make-up is needed by some women just to boost their confidence.

Too much make-up is associated with some people I wonat mention. So donat be surprised if people associate you with those people. Itas because of the way you look.

The way you apply your make-up says something about you. You may look professional or sexy because of your make-up. Too much make-up makes you look loose and cheap.

Proper men get attracted to good looking women with minimum make-up. Too much make-up can just turn him off.

Lipsticks are for making your lips plump and seductive not to look like a zombie. Sisters choose make-up which suits your skin tone and your face shape.

Avoid cheap foundation that will leave marks whenever you hug people, especially smart men who wear white shirts.

You get embarrassed after leaving a trail that you are the make-up shop.

My sisters accept that we are black people and black is beautiful. Donat try to be a white by applying those bright, catchy colours meant for white people.

You find most of my sisters with neon-green and blue eye lashes as if they are geckos or ontulo.

Make-up can also just be used to make one look older or younger. Teenage girls often wear make-up because they want to appear older. Girls, just be careful you do not apply too much and appear too old. On this note, these girls are abusing red lipstick, i know itas the a?in-thinga? (fashionable), but mind what you will be wearing.

On the flip side, women who are past a certain age rely on cosmetics to make them appear younger. Some cosmetics claim to soften wrinkles or reduce fine lines. With skilful application, women can erase years from their face.

For women who have complexion issues, make-up can help disguise problem areas, although the main focus should be on a skin care routine to maintain clear skin. Concealers can hide dark under eye circles or blemishes.

Foundations can smoothen your complexion into an even-toned canvas. Make-up is great for creating the illusion of perfect skin if used the right way.

If you want to glam up your look, for a big night out or a special date, make-up will help you do that. You can choose whichever look you like best.

Make-up is one area where women can really set themselves apart from men. Itas generally a very girly arena where boys arenat allowed! With all of the different colours, textures and tools involved, playing around with make-up can simply be seen as a fun thing to do. Women have fun and be on point always!
Hey Nhla, thanks for your educative articles and I like commenting, but once other people have read our comments, they start inboxing asking so many questions and others take it as if when one comments, she is advertising herself.
