Mutasa resigns

FOLLOWING their one-all draw against Bantu Rovers played on Wednesday at Luveve Stadium, 24 hours later FC Platinum head coach Lloyd Mutasa announced his resignation.
a?FC Platinum regrets to announce the resignation of the head coach Lloyd Mutasa who today, Thursday 7 August 2014, advised club president George Mawere of his intention to step down from the team following what he believed was its failure team to live to its full potential,a? said FC Platinum media liaison officer Chido Chizondo.

The platinum miners have been inconsistent in the 2014 season and Mutasa leaves them on position six with 25 points from 18 starts. They have posted five wins, 10 draws and three loses with a goal difference of +5 ahead of their Week 19 league match against How Mine at Mandava Stadium on Saturday

Chizondo said Mawere accepted the resignation and has appointed interim coach Patrick Mandizha who was assistant coach in the junior development programme.

She said a substantive coach will be announced as soon as the executive identifies a suitable candidate.

Last month we reported that the clubas former coach Tenant Chilumba had shown interest of bouncing back while Buffaloes mentor Luke Masomere was also in the mix to take over from Mutasa.
