ONE FINALIST from the Miss World Zimbabwe 2018 has taken it upon herself to extend lessons and skills she learnt from the pageant through her modelling agency.

In a bid to empower the girl child, Bridget Vambe (22) will officially launch her own modelling agency in February.

The 22-year-old model was one of the top 16 contestants who battled for the Miss World Zimbabwe crown which was grabbed by Belinda Potts in September last year.

“I will be launching my own modelling agency which we call Black Royalty Modelling Consultancy. This is to help groom girls who would like to pursue their careers in the modelling industry,” said Vambe.

Vambe’s wake-up call to help groom young girls in modelling came after noticing how some girls did not get to make it to some of the most prestigious pageants to showcase how good they are in modelling.

“I am doing this because I noticed how some girls out there do not get the chance to go as far as Miss World Zimbabwe or any other pageant competition of their choice, so through our agency they will be taught the basics of modelling and when they are ready they will then go and compete in pageants of their choice,” she added.

Black Royalty Modelling is not grooming only girls but they will be taking an initiative to groom men who also want to be models.

“Because we do not only teach cat walking we have managed to recruit boys too, whom we will groom to be commercial models,” said Vambe.

Vambe has so far recruited 30 female students and is yet to get her first bunch of male students.

“For now we have 30 students who are female students only and we hope to get our first set of male students soon,” said the model.

Some of the students have already begun making their way into the industry as they have been appearing on some music videos and some have taken part in some pageants.

“Some of our students have already become familiar faces as they have featured in some music videos and one of our students was crowned Miss December,” said Vambe.
