Life after Star FM: Zaza looks AHEAD

Bubbly radio personality Zandile “Zaza” Ndlovu is looking to spread her wings after she officially left one of the country’s biggest radio stations, Star FM, last week.

The vivacious and eloquent Zaza, who in her year-long tenure at Star FM had carved a reputation as the ”queen of roadshows” announced that she was leaving the station last week, as she looks to concentrate on other ventures in her career.

Zaza was the host of the Essence of Soul on Sunday nights where she took the role of the resident radio sex therapist while she also was the host of Suite 912 and Enkundleni on Monday and Thursday nights respectively.

In an interview, Zaza said she was taking the time to follow some of her other passions and projects which she could not tackle with the same gusto while on radio.

With digitalization well under way, the sultry voiced radio host has been appointed in the interim steering committee for the Zimbabwe Independent Filmmakers, Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Information Media and Broadcasting Services.

“I love challenges and I am looking forward to putting the film knowledge that I acquired when I went to Hollywood under US IVLP programme in 2014. I am very excited to be playing a part in the Zimbabwean film industry’s future especially with the Digital Migration Project,” she said.

The radio host hinted that she might be returning to radio soon, as it was her passion and did not see herself off the medium for too long. She added that she had two edutainment programmes in the pipeline, alongside her cultural work with Pathisa Nyathi at Amagugu Cultural Centre.

“I will always love radio and can never fully divorce myself from it. In the near future you will hear my voice soon again on the airwaves but at the moment my hands are full,” she said.
