Inter association pool tourney set for Gwanda

BULAWAYO and Gwanda pool clubs are set to clash in an inter-association tournament in Gwanda on Saturday.
According to Bulawayo Pool AssociationA� secretary-general, teams that are going to represent the City of Kings and Queens are Kings, Exchange, Black Eagles and Funda Ukulinda and this is as per mid season log top clubs.

In terms of prizes Mukucha said the two associations agreed that the top gong will have a monetary value of $300 while the team that will come out second will pocket $200.

Clubs that are going to come out on position three and four will go home with $60 and $40 respectively.

a�?The four home teams will contribute $80 each whilst the away teams will contribute $60 each towards the prize money. The set up is the same as the one we used when we BPA clubs played clubs from Midlands Pool League,a�? said Mukucha.

We wish the teams representing the BP Association a successful tournament. Let them bring all the prizes home,a�? he said.

Meanwhile, Emakhandeni Cricket Club in conjunction with BPA will host a two day Heroes Singles contest set for Monday and Tuesday.

BPA spokesperson Donald Wadawu said registration which is pegged at $2 opens at team level at Emakhandeni Cricket Club and closes on Monday at 1pm.

The tournament is sponsored by ardent sports follower Phathisani Nkomo who runs business at Emakhandeni Cricket Club.

a�?In conjunction with BPA, Emakhandeni Cricket club will have a two singles pool contest. Ita��s all about having fun during this coming long Heroes weekend. Hope to see pool players and lovers having lots of fun,a�? said Nkomo.

In the mena��s category, the first prize will be $250 and the second prize will be $150. The player that will come out third will get $120 and $80 will be the prize money for the player that will come out number four.

Participants that will come out on position five to eight will each pocket $50.
In the womena��s category, the top prize is $80 and the second prize is $60.

The participants that will come out number three and four will get $40 and $20 each.
In line with the Heroes holiday activities the BPA executive advised all clubs that league games that were set for Saturday have been cancelled.
