As Generations creator Mfundi Vundla works furiously on revamping the soapie after the dismissal of 16 cast members, his long-standing head scriptwriter, Bongi Ndaba, has resigned.ADrum magazine has revealed that Bongi, who was also co-producer of the soapie, has quit her job but wonat say why.
a?Iam not ready to divulge the reason for my resignation but Iam leaving a and itas not to join another company,a? a cagey Bongi told the publication.
But, as the mother of sacked actor Thato Molamuas son, itas not unfeasible to think that working for the man who fired her boyfriend might be a bone of contention within her relationship, and possibly part of the reason why she resigned.
Thato Molamu, who played the role of Nicholas Nomvete in Generations, was among the 16 main cast members whose contracts with the soapie were cancelled after they went on strike to protest their rates and the conditions of their contracts.
Meanwhile, Drum has also revealed that Skeem Saam will replace Generations for two months, this as Mfundi Vundla works furiously to create and write what is being dubbed the a?new Generationsa?.
According to the magazine, a?Skeep Saama? will replace a?Generationsa? in its 8pm weekday slot on SABC1 from Wednesday, 1 October. – Online
