ZIMBABWEa��S representatives in the 2016 Caf competitions Chicken Inn and Harare City are set to square off in a practice match set for Sunday at Hartsfield Rugby Ground.

The two clubs are intensifying their preparations ahead of their debut campaigns in the Caf Champions League and Caf Confederations Cup respectively.

The Gamecocks were due to arrive in the country on Friday following their tour to neigbouring Zambia whereA� they featured in a four-team tournament that included Zambiaa��s Zesco United, Zanaco and Tanzanian champions Azam.

a�?We are planning a training match against Harare City. The match will be played on Sunday and the venue is likely to be Hartsfield Stadium. We think the match will help our coaches to blend the players that went to Zambia and those that remained home,a�? said Chicken Inn chairman Lifa Ncube.

Injured players will be closely monitored.

a�?Our team doctors will have to assess captain Danny Phiri and Clemence Matawu. However, I believe Phiri is now fit again,a�? he added.

Phiri, who is also the Warriors captain, named the Zimbabwean Soccer star of the year in 2015,A� has had a nagging ankle injury while Matawu has been complaining about his calf.

In their Caf Champions League first round tie, Gamecocks meet South Africaa��s Absa Premiership side Mamelodi Sundowns .

Harare City are set to take on AS Adema who are, however, not new to African football having participated in both the Caf Champions League and the Caf Confederations Cup.

City now boasts of newboys Blessing Moyo, Ronald Chitiyo, Raphael Manuvire and Edwin Madhananga. They also recently welcomed back bustling forward Francesco Zekumbawire and William Manondo who were with the national team for the 2016 African Nations Championship (Chan) campaign.

Another new signing, defender Jimmy Tigere, arrived from Triangle.
