After being spotted at one of the Copa Coca-Cola schools tournaments, the future promised to be bright for the Zimbabwean overlapping defender, Mbekezeli Sibanda (21), who is currently with Slovakian Division Three side MSK Puchov.
The former Zifa Southern Region Division One side Talen Vision FC player left for Slovakia early this year after he successfully impressed the Slovakian side during a trial stint at the beginning of the year.
While other players in lower leagues dream of the Zimbabwe Premier league, Sibanda’s football gifts took him abroad although to a lower league albeit with opportunities.
And he says: “Slovakia is a good place to start a football career but like any other player l wish to develop as a footballer and play in more competitive leagues in countries like England, France and Germany,” said Sibanda.
He also dreams of donning the Warriors colours.
In Slovakia Sibanda has played against fellow Zimbabweans that include Njabulo Mpofu and Crispen Ncube who previously turned out for Talen Vision and Bantu Rovers respectively.
“It was difficult to settle down and focus on my career at first because of the snowy weather conditions in Slovakia but l have slowly adapted to the environment and everything is now normal to me,” said Sibanda.
The ambitious player said he wishes to be successful like icons former Warriors captains Benjani Mwaruwari and Peter Ndlovu.
“One day I wish to have a successful career like my icons Peter Ndlovu and Benjani Mwaruwari so that I can be able to give back to the community and sponsor underprivileged children who wish to play soccer,” said Sibanda.
