Flying stars derail log leaders

BULAWAYO Christian league outfit Flying Starsa�� derailed early pace setters Spirit Filled Ministries after defeating Saints in a four goal thriller last weekend.

Spirit Filled ministries succumbed to their second defeat this season at the hands of House of Prayer which made them drop to the second position with 32 points while Flying Stars sit at 33.

Flying Stars gaffer Evans Madhuku said it still too early to celebrate their current position at the summit.

a�?Ita��s a morale booster for the boys to be at the top. The boys lacked consistency at the beginning of the season but they are settled now. We hope to maintain our position at the top up to the end of the season,a�? said Madhuku.

Although Spirit Filled Ministries were defeated, their gaffer Farai Manago said there still pose a serious threat to the title race.

a�?No one loves defeat and its painful to us .We accept it graciously as we cana��t win all matches but it was a wakeup call to my team to be focused till the final whistle as we conceded in the last two minutes of the match.

a�?I am putting my guys under pressure as we are targeting the cup. We have now shifted our focus to the next game and we hope to have positive results,a�?said Manago.

He said there are looking forward to beefing up their squad.

a�?We are looking to beef up our squad by adding two more players and we are hoping to unleash them soon and hopefully they will make a difference.
