Fireworks in Eastern Region

ITaS dog eats dog affair this Sunday when Eastern division one outfit Masvingo United hosts their nemesis Buffalo Junior at Mucheke Stadium in what promises to be a tense match.
When the two teams locked horns last week the match was prematurely ended after Masvingo United fans caused a scene forcing the referee to abandon the match.

The chaos arose from what the opposing team felt was bad officiating that gave the home side an unfair goal.

The match was abandoned in the 78th minute following Buffaloas second goal of the match to make it 2-1 in favour of the hosts. Fans argued that the home side player had scored from an offside position and started to throw missiles into the pitch forcing the official to stop the match. As if that was not enough the otherwise rowdy Masvingo fans invaded the pitch and allegedly manhandled the referee.

It is against this backdrop that the match at Mucheke Stadium promises to be a tense one, and the home side which has not yet lost a match, save for the disputed game, since the arrival of mentor Johannes Nhumwa, looks set to collect maximum points.
