WE need a second bite!
FC Platinum can hardly claim to have experience in the Confederation of African Football (Caf) champions league having crashed 5-1 onA aggregate to Angolan champions, Clube Desportivo Primero De Agosto early this year.
As such the team believes it can do better in the African showcase. However, to get there, they should win the 2018 Premier Soccer League (PSL) first.
Now at the top of the PSL with 44 points, at the end of the tunnel is the all important wish for African action.
a?We were prematurely knocked out at the infancy stage of the tournament and worse we were debutants. The players were new in the tourney and didnat know what to expect but if we manage to get ourselves another opportunity l believe we will be in a better position to compete than this year,a? said their gaffer Norman Mapeza.
Only Dynamos hasA managed to go up to the semi finals of the CafA competitions and Norman Mapeza believes that if his team maintained their current form they would carve a history of their own.
a?We have a strong team. If we continue in this form during the second half of the season, we will not just lift the clubas name high but we will also lift the Zimbabwean flag high,a? added Mapeza.
Ngezi Platinum is currently the number one contender of derailing Mapezaas men from achieving their dream. Ngezi, with 38 points, is number two.
