THE country’s most decorated football club, Dynamos has for the second time since 1969 failed to provide a player for the annual soccer stars of the year finalists.

In 2005 when Caps United won the Premier Soccer League title, it was a bad year for Dynamos. It’s the same this year as the team battled relegation threats for the better part of the season.

“This is the second time that Dynamos has not had a representative on the calendar since the inception of the awards since 1969. They first missed out in 2005 and they have done so again in 2018,” said Charles Mabika on the sidelines of this year’s Soccer Stars selection event which was conducted in the capital on Thursday morning.

Highlanders” veteran goal-minder Ariel “Mangoye” Sibanda, Chicken Inn’s industrious midfielder Innocent Muchaneka and resurgent ex-Warriors and FC Platinum midfield maestro Joel “Josta” Ngodzo were selected among the country’s 2018 brilliant players.

The list also included reigning Soccer Star of the Year Rodwell Chinyengetere, his last season’s bridesmaid Kevin Moyo, Farai Madanhanga, Michael Charamba and Godknows Murwira of Ngezi Platinum Stars.
