The Perfect Partnership between Castle Lager, Africaas leading lager and FC Barcelona, one of the most popular and successful soccer teams in the world, continues to deliver benefits for both Castle lager consumers and soccer fans alike.
From Monday to 2 August, African fans can look forward to experiencing soccer the Barcelona way, when two coaches from FC Barcelona will be on the continent to host two-day coaching clinics in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania.
Coaches Daniel Bigas Alsina and Isaac Oriol Guerrero Hernandez from FC Barcelonaas Football School will be hosting the clinics at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Monday to Tuesday, at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, Zambia, on Wednesday to Thursday and at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 1 to 2 August.
a?When we signed the partnership with FC Barcelona last year, one of our mandates was to extend its benefits to our consumers on many levels.
a?These coaching clinics, which will see aspiring soccer players from each of the countries receiving hands-on training from coaches from one of the worldas most successful soccer teams, is part of the community involvement element of the benefits,a? said Maxen Karombo, Delta Beverages marketing director.
The FC Barcelona coaches will spend two days in each of the countries and work with Castle Premier Soccer League players and coaches and will take them through professional drills and training sessions.
The participants will also be given certificates of attendance.
a?We are very excited about this opportunity to come to Africa and work with some of the young talent and share our skills and expertise with them. We work with some of the best players in Europe and these clinics will give local players access to the Tiki Taka football styles that we are famous for,a? said Alsina.
FC Barcelona financial vice-president Javier Faus said these clinics are a sign of their appreciation to their fans on the African continent.
a?FC Barcelona is committed to giving back to the communities around the world that support us. These clinics are a sign of our appreciation to our fans on the continent and will also be a form of skills transfer directly from our coaches to local players,a? he said.
These first three coaching clinics will be used as a preamble to other similar initiatives that will be implemented by Castle Lager and FC Barcelona on the continent to support the teamas supporters and the lageras consumer.
