HIGHLANDERS CEO Ndumiso Gumede is planning suing football legend Moses Chunga for heaping blame on him for violence that has rocked local football.Chunga labelled Gumede andA former Zifa board member and national team coach Benedict Moyo as administrators who will always defend hooligans for tribal reasons.

Speaking to the Herald newspaper, Chunga, who is also Zimbabwe Soccer Coaches Association chairman, was quotedA as saying:A a?The problem is that we have people like Ndumiso Gumede and Benedict Moyo who are always pushing tribal agendas in our football. During our time as players, the national team had players from all over be it Hwange, Rio Tinto, Mutare and so on. Even if a team like Highlanders provided four players it would be on merit and not what we are witnessing these days.a?

While Gumede said he did not want to dwell much on what he called immaturity, he revealed that he has already consulted his lawyers.

a?I have referred the issue to do with Moses Chungaas recent utterances in the media to my lawyers. It didnat go down well with me. I was not happy at all and I wouldnat want to dwell much on immaturity,a? said a dejected Gumede.

In an interview this week, Moyo, who is based in Kwekwe, said he wondered how he could influence disturbances that took place in a match between Highlanders and Caps United two weeks ago when he was not in Bulawayo.

a?That is very unfortunate. I was not even at Barbourfields. I was a number kilometres away from the stadium and I wonderA how I could have influenced those ugly scenes. I donat also understand the tribal link to all this.A I will not want to legitimise wrong thinking. I donat think a normal person can say that. How can Chunga accuse Gumede and myself of such things? I can see he is all over the media making those tribal accusations, a? said Moyo.
