ZIFA Southern Region Division one outfit Hwange have signed tough-as-teak defender Felix a?SaNickya? Chindungwe in their bid for a quick return to the Premiership.
The former Highlanders captain breaks his lengthy off field sabbatical and returns to the game having last kicked the ball in 2016.
On his arrival, Chindungwe (35) netted his first goal as Hwange eased past Zambian side Livingstone Pirates in a friendly match played a fortnight ago.
He comes into the fray in a team that had more than a third of its players leaving for other teams elsewhere.
Other notable players who have found a home at Hwange include former Chicken Inn attacking midfielder Canaan Nkomo and once brilliant midfield maestro Malvern Longwe.
Although Chipangano were hit by the exodus, head coach Nation Dube is upbeat that his new signings will propel the team to the top.
a?We are on course to start our campaign on a high footing. Quite a number of high profile players came in to try their luck but we settled for the likes of Felix because of their experience. Our goal is simple, we want a quick return to Premiership football,a? said Dube.
