Chibuku Super Cup quarters explode

Fungai Muderere
THE 2018 Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final matches will be played on Saturday and Sunday with Bulawayo football giants Highlanders set to make the long trip to the capital for a date with bogey side Harare City at Rufaro Stadium.

To book their quarter-finals berth, Bosso beat Yadah FC 2-1 while Harare City began their Chibuku Super Cup title defence on a bright note after registering a 1-nil victory over Bulawayo City.

Caps United take on inconsistent Chapungu at Ascot Stadium.

On Sunday, fading Harare giants Dynamos will entertain Herentals at Rufaro Stadium.

Taurai Mangwiro’s Triangle United welcome Nichrut to Gibbo Stadium.

The Chibuku Super Cup also presents a ticket for the winner to feature in the Caf Confederations Cup.

Former league champions Chicken Inn were banned from this year’s tournament after they caused the abandonment of their first round tie against Yadah last year.

The Gamecocks protested against a late penalty which was awarded to Yadah with the teams tied 0-0 and walked off the field.

The Bulawayo side were banned by the PSL’s Ad-hoc committee according to the rules and regulations of the competition.
