AFTER successfully hosting the third annual edition of the Changamire Hip-Hop FestivalA� Awards last Saturday, the founder of the festival Tafadzwa a�?Zimboya�? Muchechetere wants to take his game to the next level.
The next stop is Europe with Birmingham and London introducing the awards to the United Kingdom.
After the colourful Changamire Awards were held at Hararea��s classy Club 1+1, work is back to normal as the festival gears for a new season with its a�?3 Countries Toura�? comprisingA� Zimbabwe, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Zimbabwe, being the host and place of birth of the fast growing Changamire Festivals, will have the honour of seeing the opening fair being held at Chitsuwa Restaurant in Harare on 24 February while the second edition is billed for Hydro City Club, Sandton, Johannesburg in South Africa on 3 March.
The most vital edition which is a first of its kind will be held in the United Kingdom with the Birmingham and London shows held on 30 and 31 March respectively.
The performers for the European tour will be the most trending local hip-hop acts who also won big at the Changamire Hip-Hop Awards courtesy of their dedicated appearances on last seasona��s festival editions like Kikky Badass, Trick Jay, Urban grooves maestro Trevor Dongo, Tray XL, South Africa-based artistes Knox, Yaka Yaka and Don-Vito-Korleon.
Zimboy also revealed efforts of including Bulawayo hip-hop Kingpin Cal_vin.
a�?Ita��s a privilege and Goda��s grace that this year Changamire Hip-Hop Festivals will be in its third season. This year we want to go international as we want to spread Zimbabwean hip-hop feel throughout the world.
a�?We are taking local acts which were the most significant participators at last yeara��s edition of the festivals. I am still in negotiations with Cal_vin to feature in the South African and United Kingdom shows, if all goes well he will join the ship,a�? said Zimboy.
Zimboy also acknowledged partners of the tour which include his United Kingdom partners Kutpies Entertainment which is owned by Zimbabwean-born Lionel Mushonga. Other individual sponsors include Yaka Yaka, Young Game Entertainment and Boss-Tumelo of the Power Circle movement.
