Zimbabwean comedian Carl Joshua Ncube is embracing his new status as an act worthy of headline status after his recently concluded tour of South Africa where he was the main act during most of the shows.
While South Africa has become a second home for Ncube, he has in the past played second fiddle to the well established stand-up comedians in that country.
This however changed during his recent visit to that country where he was either the MC or the headline act during shows at the Cape Town Comedy Club, the Goliath Comedy Club, the Box Comedy Club and the prestigious Parkers Comedy Club.
a?Every time when you perform at a comedy show it feels like graduation and this was particularly true for me during my recent tour in South Africa. Previously whenever I have performed in that country I have been an opening act and things like that but this time I was the main attraction which made a vast difference,a? he said.
Ncube added that he had felt well and truly at home in South Africa, something that he had not felt in his previous visits.
a?I really felt comfortable on the stage and I did not feel like just another foreigner which is something that I have felt on my previous visits to South Africa,a? he said.
With his tour of South Africa now done and dusted, Ncube is now shifting his attention to his world tour which will see him transverse various continents.
a?The tour is still on because I was booked months ago. Now we are raising money for travel to the different venues from Dubai otherwise everything else is still on track,a? he said.
