THE three-day Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) annual teams Easter tournament will explode on Good Friday at 12 venues dotted in and around the city.
a�?The host teams are going to be seeded. This is meant to avoid seeded clubs playing against each other. Host clubs will play at home and in the second day (Easter Saturday) we are going to use six or three venues and for the finals that are going to be played on Easter Sunday we are going to have a single venue,a�? said BPA publicity secretary Farai Nyandoro.
a�?Each club will pay $25 for registration and clubs can register more than one team. A total of seven frames will be played, that is, two doubles and five singles,a�? added Nyandoro.
Meanwhile, three of the four newly promoted BPA Premier League sides began their 2016 campaigns last weekend on a losing note with Ntabazinduna falling 4-10 to West Commonage while Black Eagles and Southwold lost on 6-8 identical score-lines to Ntabazinduna and Egodini respectively.
Of the newly promoted only Masters managed a 8-6 win over Ace Lounge.
Kings demonstrated their intentions to defend their title with an emphatic 12-2 win over ZRP Central. Entumbane also showed their strength with a 10-4 victory over Golden Lions.
In the associationa��s Division One A league UBH beat Nuttya��s 12-2 while newboys Nkulumane Complex secured a 8-6 victory over Nkulumane Pool Club with Fungai Dragons falling 6-8 to Exchange Bar.
The Donald Wadawu-led Munyoro Community managed to force a 7-7 draw against his former club Dragons.
In the Division One B League, new side Lobengula Sharks brewed a shocker when they beat Mnethi Gunners 9-5 away from home with Delta cruising to a 10-4 win over Sibamba.
CSC managed a 9-5 away victory over Msindo a club that has an esteemed lady pool player Sithembiso Dube.
In the elite league, fireworks are expected on Saturday with Entumbane welcoming Masters. Championship contenders Lounge Sharks visit Southwold. Defending champions Kings will make the long trip to Ntabazinduna.
In Division One A new comers Lobengula Sharks will welcome 13th Avenue. Another exciting tie will see Munyoro Community take on ZPC.
