FORMER Warriors fringe striker Mandlenkosi Sibanda who was recently snapped by Premier Soccer League club How Mine from Botswanaas Ecco City is still awaiting his reverse international clearance.
Ecco City play in the Batswana BeMobile Premier Soccer League that has a number of Zimbabwean players and coaches. The gangling Sibanda was signed from Ecco City with the gold minersa technical department expecting him to be a direct replacement on the right wing of Benjamin Marere who has since rejoined FC Platinum.
a?I signed for How Mine before the closure of the mid-season transfer window. I have been working hard and a number of senior players at the club that include Gilbert Banda and Brighton Dube have made sure that I feel at home.
a?However, I am still waiting for my reverse international clearance from Ecco City. They have just been delaying with it but hopefully sooner than later, I will be eligible to play in the local domestic league,a? said Sibanda.
Asked on what influenced him to trek back home from Botswana, the outspoken player bemoaned lack of professionalism at Ecco City.
a?From the beginning of the year I was only paid thrice at Ecco City.A We had gone for a long time without receiving our salaries. There was clearly lack of professionalism and it is good to be back home where clubs are paying players on time,a? he said.
