All set for BPA awards

THE Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) clubs and individuals awards ceremony will be held at Raylton Recreation Club on Saturday.

BPA publicity officer Farai Nyandoro said the awards ceremony would be held soon after the associationa��s Special General Meeting where both Premier League and Division One outfits would discuss and adopt the final draft constitution.

a�?There will also be discussion and adoption of the Bulawayo District Leaguesa�� final draft constitution. Both Premier League and Division One clubs should note that four representatives per club are required to attend. Sports and Recreation Commission officials will be in attendance.

Soon after the Special General Meeting we will have the BPA clubs and individuals awards ceremony,a�? said Nyandoro.

In the associationa��s Premier League category, Entumbane, who emerged as the champions will walk away with cash prize of $1 100, a shield plus 20 gold medals.

Former champions Kings, who came out as the second best club, will go home with $700 and 20 silver medals.

The Terrence Mhindu and Timothy Garadhi-led Exchange ended the season as the second runners-up and for their tireless efforts they will get prize money of $400 and 20 bronze medals.

a�?We are also going to have consolation prizes that will see a team that finished the campaign on number five receive $70 and those that came out between position six and eightA� pocket $50 each. Clubs that came out between number nine and 11, will each get $40. Prize monies of $25 each will be awarded to clubs that finished their respective campaigns between number 12 and 16,a�? said Nyandoro.

With regards to the Division One A and Division One B, Nyandoro revealed that the top three clubs are Metropolis, Ace Lounge and CSC. ZRP Central, Ntabazinduna and Donnington conquered all and sundry in Division One B.
They will get their monetary rewards and medals after engaging in playoffs.

a�?In the Division Leagues category, the top prize will be $700, a shield plus 20 gold medals. There will be a second prize of $550 and 20 silver medals. The third prize will comprise of $350 and 20 bronze medals. The fourth prize will be $250. The fifth best club will go home with $150,a�? said Nyandoro.

There will also be awards for clubs that did well in the BPA Cup which saw Exchange Pool Club emerge as the winners after getting the better of Skittle Inn a fortnight ago.

In the cupa��s third place play-off Entumbane walloped Egodini 8-1.

a�?All clubs in the main League Prizes and BPA Cup should bring duly completed and signed affidavit forms clearly stating the Name of Person, Bank and Account Number where the club wishes their prize money to be deposited. All teams in the consolation prizes should bring duly completed and signed affidavit forms clearly stating the Name of Person, EcoCash number where the club wishes their prize money to be deposited,a�? said Nyandoro.

He also noted that these documents should be submitted by respective club chairpersons who should be part of the four representatives seconded by the clubs to attend the Special General Meeting.
