Action returns to Borrowdale Race Course on 7 September, after a six-week break with seven races on the card. The domestic racing industry, fresh from a seasonal scarification break since 28 July, will resume its programme next Sunday.
The main race of the day will be the Borrowdale Handicap (1st Leg Sprinter Series) to be run over 1 000m. This sprinter series has $7 500 as stake money. A feeling of excitement engulfs the fans considering that this will be the first race day after the break. On 1 September, the final acceptances list will be released paving way for the compilation of the race card on Wednesday the following day.
A combined total of 101 horses have been nominated for all the different races slotted for the day. However, the Merit Rated (80) Race that was set to be held as one of the supporting races has been moved forward to another race day after it folded during the nominations stage.
