FORMER Warriors and Highlanders skipper Thulani “Biya” Ncube seems to envy ex Caps United and Zimbabwe youth international Alois Bunjira and foreign based Isaac Mbedzi who are founders of Chitungwiza-based Albun Soccer Academy and Emakhandeni-based First Mobile Sports Umguza Academy (FMSA).

“If I could do half for the Biya and Friends Academy of what Isaac Mbedzi and Alois Bunjira are doing for their academies, it will be a dream come true. Keep doing what you are doing guys, very much appreciated especially where we come from,” posted Ncube on Facebook.

Ncube is based in the United States of America and last year he successfully held the second edition of the Thulani Biya Ncube and friends Under-14 football in Bulawayo’s high density suburb of Gwabalanda.

At the close of 2015 FSMA which has Under 12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 age groups which compete in Zifa Bulawayo Serie A League, honoured its players where Bulawayo City’s Players Player of the Year (2015) and goalkeeper Ndodana Sibanda’s son, Gerald, who plays in the Under 14s followed his father after he was voted the academy best player of the season.

Gerald is also a goalminder.

The academy has celebrated ex Highlanders duo of Dazzy Kapenya and Thabani Masawi as part of their technical setup. Another former Bosso player Abraham Mbaiwa is also part of the technical team that also has Richard Ndlovu and Mpilo Ncube.

Among other achievements, Albun Soccer Academy is basking in glory after one of their products Tatenda Elvis Tumba was named the best player at the 2013 COPA Coca-Cola Africa Tournament held in South Africa.

The former Chemhanza High School midfielder has become the academy’s most prized product and is currently in the books of local Premier Soccer League outfit Harare City who are set to represent the country at the 2016 Caf Confederations Cup contest.
