Bosso’s Christmas Wish List

Fungai Muderere
With the festive mood prevailing, B Metro Sport decided to draw up a wish list for Highlanders. Below is what we think the Bosso team will be hoping Santa to place under their tree.

A fit Mthulisi Maphosa
Having endured playing with his problematic right knee, the veteran midfielder was forced out of action for a lengthy period.

He is currently on the road to recovery, but is not quite back to full match fitness just yet and no wonder he did not feature in the club’s Easycall Cup quarter final, semi final and final matches.

His ability and experience in the middle of the park would be an incredible addition to the Bosso engine room, and could even shift games in his team’s favour.

Find a regular goal scorer
While Knox Mutizwa deserves a lot of credit for the 14 goals he scored for Bosso, his imminent departure to South Africa’s Bidvest Wits should also come as a cause for concern. On loan seasoned Obadiah Tarumbwa is reportedly on the Chicken Inn wish list meaning players who are meant to be strikers have to succeed in goal scoring roles. Bosso need forwards who can exploit the wealth of chances they will get in the 18-yard box, and an attacker with a goal-scoring instinct could really help swing results in Amahlolanyama’s favour.

Resolve Mudzingwa, Chindungwe and Maphosa’s contract disputes
Off the pitch, Maphosa, Eric Mudzingwa and current club captain Felix Chindungwe will be some of the players that will be out of contract come 31 December. Bosso need to speedily resolve these matters so that it doesn’t affect their form on the pitch. Holding on to three seasoned players could also be pivotal for the short-term future of the club.

Restore faith in Amini
After the Easycall Cup final 1-0 triumph over Chicken Inn and the club’s ending of the 2015 season on position six,  fans have made it clear they were  pleased with Amini Soma Phiri’s  work with the squad in the last stages of the season.

Consequently, having faith in the manager will be essential in terms of stability and the players’ performances.

Either they  need to give Phiri  the necessary trust that he needs to continue his work with the team and to implement his vision, or they  need to find someone new who can do the job with the assistance of the great Phiri.
