UNHERALDED Tino Benza scored the first goal of the second half of the Castle Larger Premier Soccer League as Herentals edged second-placed Ngezi Platinum Stars 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium last weekend.
With the PSL returning after a two-week break and sitting on 299 goals, the 17-year-old player, a former student at Harareas Peter House College got the 300th goal of the season.
Interestingly, his teammate, Blessing Maunganidze got this seasonas goal number 200 while Highlandersa Gabriel Nyoni scored the 100th goal of the 2018 season that has reached a 315 goal mark.
A total of 16 goals were scored last weekend ahead of PSLas Week 19 action.
It was a big goal for Benza as well as for a team that has struggled to get the goals and this meant that they are now a goal shy of reaching double figures in the goals they have scored after 18 matches.
The students who were promoted into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League from Northern Region Division One last year, wonat care much about their poor finishing as this was only their fifth win of the season.
